As usual, I am indebted to GP for this one. I just grabbed Portland, Oregon native(?!) Ragen Fykes's EP from Fresh Selects and am liking it a lot. Track 3, Love Life is the real ear-perker here but they are all gems. Get with this summery and soulful niceness.

What Goes Up Must Come Down
One of the most intriguing things I heard on last week's Gilles Peterson show was this weird little ditty, and I thought I oughta post it up here. It sounded like a radio play within a Cockney dub sorta track, but it turns out it was a track from a very weird little band called North of Ping Pong.
Check out the vid.

Father MC - "I'll Do 4 U"
For some reason, this song came into my head and thanks to the internet I could scratch the itch right away.
Peep the video with a mighty young Mary J. Blige!
