This week's show was excellent, the whole show was great! Thus making it a bit difficult to do, but here are some of the highlights:
Unknown – 'The Dream Instrumental' (Test)- Like the title says, unknown, but wish we knew, lol. Anyways, a great intro.
Madvillain - 'Drainos' (Stones Throw)- This from the aforementioned(here), just quietly released Madvillain Remixes, more solid Madlib beats.
Bama & The Family – ‘Feeling Good’ (Truth and Soul) - Smooth ass track.
El Michels – 'Mungs tsio Myself (Alternate Mix)' (Truth and Soul) -El Michaels Affair and the Daptones have got it down when it comes to the funk/soul not too many can do that and pull it off so well.
London Philhormonic Orchestra – 'Stairway to Heaven' (Test) - Nice smooth orchestrated track.
Mark Murphy – 'On the Red Clay' (Muse) - Not up on Mark Murphy yet, but grreat intro and does "Red Clay" ever get old? No!
Madlib and Frezna – Yo Yo Affair Part 1 and 2' (bbe)- First heard this on an impeccable BBC Quasimto Madlib mix back in 2005 that i still listen to, glad to see this coming out on the upcoming BBE Album.
Janelle Monae – 'Smile' (Wondaland Arts Society) - Charismatic performer, check her out if you get a chance- so far im impressed with her very much- what a great voice.
Milton Nascimento Jobim Trio – 'Tudo Que Voce Podie Ser' (EMI) - Brasillian legend still releasing great music ... I love it!!
Hank Ballard – 'With Your Sweet Loving Self' (Soul Brother Records)
Raphael Saadiq – '100 Yard Dash' - Saw him in concert perform this the other week, GP only plays it for a hot sec but check the whole track, its a nice soul number.
