BEST MIX OF 2015

Ossie Guestmix (Sept 9, 2015) Guestmix for BBC Benji B Radio 1 (download)

Daniel Caesar featuring BADBADNOTGOOD & Sean Leon – Paradise

As we wait for Frank Ocean's next album, why not listen to artists that kinda remind us of him, haha. Not familiar with this Daniel Caesar(who is apparently from Toronto) but with BADBADNOTGOOD the backing band on the track it is bound to be, at the very least, somewhere in the vicinity of good, and this is great.

Hudson Mohawke - Forever 1 (Cashmere Cat Remix)

Magical remix here by Cashmere Cat of Hudson Mohawke's "Forever 1" & don't sleep on Hudson's Lantern album from earlier this year !

Erykah Badu - Hotline Bling Remix

Badu taking a cue from Drizzy Drake who in turn took a cue from D.R.A.M.

Love how one creation influences and informs another and so on and so forth.

Mele' - Ambience

This  one is a bigtime rager!

Para One & The South African Youth Choir Elevation site

Just heard on Annie Mac's BBC1 show, this song is giving me such good 90s rave vibes!

BEST MIXTAPE:

Sam Tiba - Summer Mixtape

D'Angelo return album has finally arrived!

Wow what a surprise this was. He has kept us waiting for some 14 years, but he comes back and still delivers strong material, so really, we can't be that mad. After all, he did leave us with, in this writer's opinion, one of the greatest albums of all time.

While you are at it, check out this great lil piece on the man and the mystique that surrounds him.

And if you've got 80 minutes to spare, this Red Bull Music Academy sit down he did with Nelson George earlier this year was quite enlightening.

Flying Lotus ft. Kendrick Lamar "Never Catch Me" (directed by Hiro Murai)

Amamamamaaaaaaaaaaazing video!!!!!!!!!!!

Bunji Garlin - Truck On D Road

Notting Hill Carnival just passed in UK and now Caribbean Day Weekend festivities are about to get poppin in my neck of Brooklyntown. If I don't hear this track blaring from every car I'm going get facety!

Jungle - Busy Earnin'

Sound, visuals and dance coming together perfectly.

Vic Mensa "Down On My Luck"
